Where it all started…

The whole SBT journey started for myself quite weirdly actually... I've always been a dog man, I grew up with Golden Retrievers as our family dogs, a breed that is still very close to my heart. My parents still have Golden Retrievers and our SBTs often join them on family walks which is great fun! But how I hear you ask did a Golden Retriever man become an SBT man...?

Well back in circa 2007 as part of my work I was required to work on the premises of sometimes lots of households in one day, often they would have dogs which was always nice but one house in particular I remember entering the back garden to be greeted by the most perfect blue female SBT !!! In them days blues were rare, I had never seen one in my life and she absolutely sole my heart !!! From that moment on I was hooked!

After convincing Lisa our first boy followed soon after. Wilson was a lovely puppy we bought from a seller in Sheffield, however not the best example of an SBT we found out as the Wilson matured into an adult... infact more of a 'Staffordshire type' in the loosest possible terms and me being super keen and certainly naive I didn't know any better and was fooled into believing he was genuine. I later found out the paperwork was fabricated and infact the father to Wilson was a massive American Pit bull that also lived at the house. I was shocked and hurt that my first experience was dealing with what was nothing more than a backyard breeder, fiddling paperwork for a quick pay day !!

.....but that negative experience was maybe a good thing, maybe the spark that made me think, we can do this, but we can do it better!

After alot of reading, research myself and Lisa decided we could, in this world of unscrupulous breeders do things the right way and so the journey began....

Alpahblustaf Major, born in 2010 was the turning point, the first real, high quality SBT we had and the building blocks for everything we are over a decade later.

Now after over a decade, them little seeds of ambition, in doing things the right way, producing quality pups from happy, healthy adults, constantly investing in facilities and life enrichment that only benefits our dogs we are proud of what we have become.... Vaderblustaf SBTs, Vet approved and local authority approved licensed breeders.

This is the best job in the world, living our dream, an SBT lifestyle making families complete the length and breadth of the UK.
