We have been SBT breeders since 2009 and as breeders, inevitably, there comes a time when we need to rehome dogs with new families. This is by far the hardest part of being a breeder and the most important one to get right.  We keep in contact with all our dogs as they start their journey with their forever families, like Major, Big John, Peppa, Star and more who all moved on to live a fantastic lives with their new families.

Whether it be a female that has come to the end of her breeding career or a stud that is being retired these dog in terms of pets are still very young, only 4/5 or 6 years old. All our dogs over the years spend their time as part of family so absolutely family dogs. For these dogs we don't charge a fee, it is our responsibility to make sure we pick the best possible families. We will vet potential new owners with a home visit something we would consider.

Another reason that may crop up is a male or female being retired from breeding before they even start as we feel it is not for them or possibly after one litter if we feel it was at all difficult for them or required a C-section for instance. In these cases the dogs are even younger, possibly 1, 2 or 3 years old so again lots of happy life to live and love to give. An example of this was Bow, a stunning female who after just one litter didn't recover how we would hope and picked up an in infection in her womb. This medical issue is absolutely fixable with anti-biotics but as ethical,  caring breeders we decide to, at just 2 years old have her spayed and retire her.

Once fully recovered and back to her happy, loving self we rehomed her with a lovely lady called Laney. Bow, was 2 when she left, she is 4 now and lives a wonderful life with her owner Laney and bulldog Bea as you can see from these recent photo updates (adjacent).

We also rehomed Star 10 years ago, who went on to live a happy fulfilled life, as you can see by the pictures of her with her new owners, Adrian and Rachel.

Please feel free to contact us if you would like any further information.
